Mister Rogers goes to the barbershop. The barber, Angelo Spampinato, says he cuts Corney’s hair. The barber and Mister Rogers talk about how haircuts don’t hurt. Mr. Spampinato leaves Mister Rogers with a book to look at and goes to meet Corney at the factory to give him a haircut. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Bernie Jessol shows Daniel some gymnastic tricks, then goes to get a haircut at the barbershop where Mister Rogers is. Mr. Spampinato cuts Corney’s hair and inspects the king’s hair.
Mister Rogers reads a book about fur, feathers, and hair. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Marion and Nicholas Petrov are dancing for King Friday XIII. They are dressed as X the Owl and Henrietta Pussycat. Then they dance in leotards, not in costume. Betty Aberlin borrows the book to take to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. She shows the book to X and Henrietta. The Petrovs appear in their X and Henrietta costumes.
Mister Rogers brings a dachshund named Neddie. He reads a book naming different kinds of dogs. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Chef Brockett gives Daniel an apple. He leaves some apples at the Museum-Go-Round. He gives applesauce to X and Henrietta and apple juice to King Friday XIII. Mr. McFeely picks up Neddie the dachshund and shows Mister Rogers Roscoe, a French poodle. Chef Brockett and Mister Rogers bob for apples.
Mister Rogers uses drinking straws to blow bubbles in soapy water. Mrs. Rubin visits and shows paintings done with straws. The trolley brings a letter from Lady Aberlin inviting Mister Rogers to the castle for a surprise. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Paul Draper tap dances.
Mister Rogers plays a matching game with some fruit. Mr. McFeely brings over a battery-operated steam shovel. He talks about making toys do what you want. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Dr. Marchl plays with Grandpere’s machine which produces whatever it’s asked for in French. Then Henrietta talks about wishing she could play like a boy, and X says he wishes he could do things girls do. Dr. Marchl acknowledges their feelings.
