Mister Rogers puts together a small fountain and then watches a video showing famous fountains from around the world. He sings “You Can Never Go Down the Drain” in the bathroom. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday XIII gifts Westwood a fountain, the old castle waterfall. Mayor Maggie searches for water for the fountain and is soaked by Lady Elaine Fairchilde’s garden hose. Neighbor Aber controls the water by adding a nozzle to the hose. Back at the house, Mr. McFeely stops by with a videotape about how people make raincoats. After the video, Mister Rogers gives the fountain to Mr. McFeely.
Mister Rogers enters carrying a bag with two dolls in it. One of the dolls is an in-line skating doll and the other is a baby doll that is wearing a diaper. The in-line skating doll is wearing all the proper safety equipment. Chuck Aber shows up with real in-line skates and safety equipment. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mr. Aber wears a raincoat and tells Prince Tuesday that Lady Elaine Fairchilde is squirting people with her hose. Cornflake S. Pecially asks Mr. Aber to help him cover his machine so it does not get wet. Mr. Aber tells Lady Elaine that she needs to think about how other people feel and ask them before she squirts them with her hose. Lady Elaine agrees to ask people before squirting them. Later, Mister Rogers talks about potty training and Mr. McFeely shows up with a video entitled “How People Make Concrete Sidewalks.”
Mister Rogers arrives with an Arthur puppet and a collection of drawings by Marc Brown, creator of Arthur. The drawings show various scenes of Arthur visiting the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. At his studio, Mr. Brown is working on a new Arthur story when Mister Rogers stops by for a visit. On a large sketch pad, Mr. Brown demonstrates how he draws Arthur before going on to describe the detailed process involved in making an animated program. Together, he and Mister Rogers watch a segment from an Arthur episode called Arthur Meets Mister Rogers. As Mister Rogers is leaving, he meets Michael Yarmush who provides the voice for the animated Arthur. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Arthur plays with Prince Tuesday. Lady Aberlin introduces Arthur to X the Owl, Henrietta Pussycat, and Lady Elaine, who squirts them as they walk over to Daniel’s Clock. Lady Elaine is very pleased to find that Arthur wants to visit the Museum-Go-Round as soon as he is finished playing at Daniel’s clock. Back at the house, Mister Rogers spends more time looking at the pictures drawn by Marc Brown before Mr. McFeely stops by with a videotape about how people make traffic signals.
Mister Rogers arrives with a fireman’s helmet on loan from the local fire department. Visiting the Neighborhood fire department, Mister Rogers meets Captain Arnold who shows him the various aspects and responsibilities of being a firefighter. At one of the fire trucks, Captain Arnold shows the various controls and equipment including a Stokes basket used to transport people with injuries. After hearing the truck’s siren, Captain Arnold offers some fire safety tips to viewers. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday, Handyman Negri, and Lady Aberlin have signed on as volunteer firefighters. Lady Aberlin and Corney recall a fire at the factory several years ago. Meanwhile, smoke is seen coming from the Platypus mound and Handyman Negri sounds the alarm. At the direction of the volunteer firefighters, Lady Elaine puts out the fire as the Platypus family expresses their appreciation. Back at the house, Maggie Stewart makes a delivery on behalf of Mr. McFeely — a videotape about children dressing up in costumes. Before leaving, Ms. Stewart sings and signs the Speedy Delivery song.
Mister Rogers arrives with a tape recorder which he uses to play some music as he plays a go-stop-go game — when the music plays, he moves and when it stops, he stops. Sitting at the piano, Mister Rogers plays music so viewers can play the game as well. Visiting the school where Marilyn Barnett serves as principal, Mister Rogers joins in as she leads a first-grade class in some exercises. The exercising is interrupted when the school holds a fire drill, and the class quickly exits the building. Back inside the school, Ms. Barnett shows her office to Mister Rogers. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Neighbor Aber and Prince Tuesday are talking about the fire at the Platypus mound. The residents of Westwood have made a generous donation of supplies to help the Platypus family. King Friday asks Neighbor Aber to bring Lady Elaine to the scene of the fire where an award will be presented. The Platypus family has been staying as the Museum-Go-Round and are very happy to receive the supplies from Westwood. Everyone gathers to hear the King’s presentation. An award is given to “volunteer hose-squirter Fairchilde” — a Go-Stop-Go Award for knowing when it’s okay to use her water hose. Back at the house, Mister Rogers sings I’m Proud of You before Mr. McFeely stops by with a comb and a videotape about how people make combs. Mister Rogers concludes by sitting at the piano and playing the go-stop-go game with Mr. McFeely.
