Mister Rogers plays a bell and the piano. He listens to a performance by the Westminster Bell Choir. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mayor Maggie has an F-sharp bell that she plays with King Friday XIII and then gives to Henrietta Pussycat as a doorbell. Daniel Striped Tiger and H.J. Elephant are dressed as astronauts. Back at the house, Mr. McFeely delivers a video showing how people make bells. Ringing their bells together, Mister Rogers and Mr. McFeely sing the Speedy Delivery song.
Mister Rogers enters carrying a wrapped package with a plant in it. Mister Rogers points out that, even though plants are alive, they are very quiet. Mister Rogers goes to visit his neighbor Milla Kogos’ Rhythmic Gymnastics class. He tries it himself with Milla’s help and then he watches the class perform. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Henrietta Pussycat is still playing with her loud bell, which frustrates Bob Dog and X the Owl. Henrietta tells Bob Dog and X the Owl that she saw things from another planet and that is why she is ringing the bell. Henrietta tells them that they have to keep this information a secret. Mr. Aber shows up, but no one will tell him the secret. Mr. Aber sees Prince Tuesday who is dressed up in a space alien costume. Back at the house, Mr. McFeely shows up with a video entitled “How People Make Ribbons.”
Mister Rogers enters wearing a backpack. Inside the backpack is a toy elephant that plays a drum. Mister Rogers takes the batteries out of the toy elephant to show that the toy will not work without the batteries. Mister Rogers then goes to visit his friend Tim Adams. Tim Adams shows Mister Rogers all the instruments that a percussionist plays and demonstrates some of them. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Aberlin is talking to H.J. Elephant who is dressed in a funny costume. H.J. Elephant tells Lady Aberlin that Henrietta Pussycat and X the Owl are afraid of something–that is why they are playing loud drums and bells. Lady Aberlin tells X the Owl that King Friday doesn’t like the drums and bells. X the Owl agrees to turn the drums and bells off. Mr. Aber, Daniel Striped Tiger, and Prince Tuesday are all dressed in space alien costumes for a parade. They invite Lady Aberlin to join them. Back at the house, Mister Rogers reads a book entitled “Animal Sounds.”
Mister Rogers shows his TV neighbors his fish and then his friend Sylvia Earle’s fish, which he also has for the day. Sylvia stops by and sets up some equipment so that Mister Rogers can hear the fish. She explains that fish make noises. Then Sylvia shows a video Mr. McFeely dropped off called “Under Water Sounds of Fish.” In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mayor Maggie and King Friday are talking about the drumming noise coming from Henrietta Pussycat’s and X the Owl’s tree. Lady Aberlin shows up dressed as a fish and King Friday tells her she must get Henrietta and X the Owl to stop making noise. Bob Dog shows up and stops all the noise that is coming from Henrietta’s and X’s tree. Lady Elaine Fairchilde tells Lady Aberlin that X the Owl and Henrietta are with her because they are scared, but she will not say why they are scared. Back at the house, Mister Rogers talks about how some TV shows are scary, but that every scary TV show can be turned off.
Mister Rogers plays with noisemakers and plays different sounds on a tape recorder. Chuck Aber visits and signs “It’s the Style to Wear a Smile.” Mister Rogers shows photos of the neighbors smiling. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Prince Tuesday records a comforting message for Henrietta Pussycat and X the Owl, who are hiding out because they are afraid of the parade in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. They relax and join everyone when they realize they were just afraid of the costumes. Back at the house, Mister Rogers plays parade music on the piano and exercises with Marilyn Barnett.
