Mister Rogers brings a snake in an aquarium. Mr. McFeely shows Mister Rogers a caduceus and gives him a serpentine stone. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the Platypus family has given gifts to everyone. Lady Aberlin throws Lady Elaine’s new boomerang too hard and it reaches the castle. King Friday warns her to be more careful. Dr. Bill gives King Friday the caduceus – it startles some of the neighbors. Back at the house, Mister Rogers shows some opals. Last, he models a snake out of clay.

Mister Rogers tries to use a pogo stick. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Corney has made a hopping chair for his new toy kangaroo. Bunny Rabbit likes the chair, too. Lady Aberlin and Captain Kangaroo try the hopping chair for big people. Everyone is invited to the castle for movies. Dr. Bill promises that the movies won’t take too long and gives the viewers a chance to stretch. Back at the house, Mister Rogers’ family visit his television house. Len Schugar, a photographer, takes some family pictures.

Mister Rogers has a sign that his new neighbors, the Browns, are going to hang. Mr. and Mrs. Brown are marionette-makers. Mister Rogers visits them at their studio. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Dr. Bill asks Bob Brown to make him a sign for his office. Daniel has a splinter, so he goes to see Dr. Bill. He leaves Ino A. Horse to take care of his clock. Dr. Bill’s office is very crowded. He decides to move his office to Grandpere’s tower where there is plenty of room. Back at the house, Mister Rogers uses a hammer and nails to hang a “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” sign made by Mr. Brown. Concluding for the day, he sings a song.

Mister Rogers reads a book. Ezra Jack Keats, the author of the book, visits and explains how books are printed and bound. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Lady Elaine tells Miss Paulificate that cleaning, cooking, and answering the phone are not proper jobs for a woman. Miss Paulificate replies that she likes her work, and she is good at it. Brenda Joyce, a book editor, comes to see Grandpere about his new book. Back at the house, Mister Rogers talks about creating stories and sings “It’s You I Like”.

Mister Rogers arrives with a small plant and a handful of beans. He explains how the plant grew from a bean and refers to it as a small “bean stalk.” Visiting the Browns’ marionette studio next door, Mister Rogers enjoys their production of Jack and the Beanstalk. Back at the house, he explains that the stories can be told in many different ways and encourages viewers to be creative in their own storytelling.
