Mister Rogers arrives with a small bag of things to be repaired. He talks about how things break during play. Playing is practicing to be a grownup. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Miss Paulificate is cleaning the neighborhood on her day off. She runs into Daniel making rhymes at his clock. Miss Paulificate uses glue to repair Daniel’s toy tiger. The two of them catch a letter in the air for Dr. Bill Platypus informing him of his acceptance as a pediatrician. Back at the house, Mister Rogers compares milk and orange juice. He talks about pediatricians taking care of children when they are ill.
Mister Rogers plays with a family of dolls. He visits Mrs. Lawver, a doll collector, who shows him her collection of antique dolls. Mister Rogers talks about the difficulty of not touching interesting things. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Bob Dog, Lady Aberlin, and Dr. Bill are waiting for Dr. Bill’s lesson to arrive. When it comes, Dr. Bill is instructed to get a doll to practice on. He gets one from Lady Elaine who is having a special dolls day. Back at the house, Mister Rogers says that many people, including adults, like dolls. Betty Aberlin borrows his doll family.
Mister Rogers arrives with a collection of drawings made by Bob Trow featuring several characters from the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. As he shows the picture of Bob Dog, Mister Rogers accidentally rips the paper. Bob is disappointed, but he is able to fix it with tape. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Bob Dog accidentally tears a letter in half. He is scared until Lady Elaine Fairchilde fixes it. The letter, from Dr. Bill’s pediatrician’s school, asks him to practice patting a baby doll on the back. Back at the house, Mr. McFeely stops by with a baby elephant on loan from the Neighborhood zoo. Inside, Mister Rogers uses his arm to pretend that he is an elephant.
Mister Rogers shows some pictures drawn by children. He goes to visit Mrs. Saunders’ school where he talks with the children and watches them play. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Mr. McFeely delivers a package from the pediatrician school to Dr. Bill. The letter says he will continue his training in Australia. Mrs. Saunders visits Queen Sara and Prince Tuesday. Mr. McFeely announces that the Platypus family will be leaving tomorrow. Back with Mister Rogers, he talks about what children can learn in primary school.
Mister Rogers arrives with a simple model airplane which he puts together. He talks about how he became frustrated when he was a boy and tried to put together a very detailed model. Don Williamson stops by with his large remote-controlled airplane. Mr. Williamson goes to a nearby field and demonstrates how his plane flies. In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the Platypus family is preparing to leave for Australia. Although King Friday has not given them permission to go, he agrees to help launch the Platypus family’s flying machine. With the King’s assistance, the Platypus family departs on a 21-day trip to Australia. Back at the house, Mister Rogers fills a balloon with helium and shows how it rises. He talks about losing a helium balloon once when he was a boy.
