Harriett Elizabeth Cow first comes to the Neighborhood to help Donkey Hodie on his farm in “Some Place Else.”  She not only knows a lot about farming, she knows a lot about a lot of things, including serving as a founding member of the Living Prose Society. When it is decided that the Neighborhood needs a school for the children, the neighbors turn to Harriett to be the teacher. Voiced by Bob Trow, Harriet Elizabeth Cow is always full of surprises.

Harriett Elizabeth Cow has a warm and caring relationship with her three young students, Daniel Tiger, Ana Platypus, and Prince Tuesday. Besides helping them learn, she is always open to hearing their questions and is sensitive to their concerns.

Did you know?

Harriett was named after Fred’s real aunt, Harriett Elizabeth Rogers, who was a school teacher herself. This puppet character was voiced and operated by Bob Trow, who also played Bob Dog and Robert Troll.
